This free webinar is designed especially for parents and caregivers of children who experience big emotions, meltdowns, or difficulty keeping safe with themselves and/or others when upset. It’s particularly helpful for families of young children with developmental differences or identified neurodivergence, such as Autism or ADHD, though all families are welcome.

Hosted from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia, join psychologist Carolyne Jones to explore concepts and tools to help better understand what’s happening beneath your child’s behaviours that are challenging for them and/or your family and others.

What this session will cover:

  • Defining 'challenging behaviour'
  • Recognising when a child is outside their 'window of tolerance'
  • Explore survival states when outside their 'window of tolerance', such as fight, flight, freeze, fawn
  • Range of potential reasons underlying challenging behaviours - message being communicated
  • Explore ways to collect and organise information to plan helpful strategies
  • Helpful resources to explore for further information
