About this event
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a proactive approach to providing personalised learning for all students. Rather than doing 30 things for 30 different students, UDL takes the approach that teachers take into account the requirements of the curriculum and their students’ strengths and functional impacts before beginning the planning process. The UDL framework consists of 3 principles, 9 guidelines, and 31 checkpoints that can be used to support students to overcome their barriers to the learning process.
During the masterclass participants will explore how to embed the UDL framework into their planning, teaching and assessment processes. At the end of the workshop participants will walk away with a series of lesson plans that include strategies aligned with the UDL framework. These lesson plans can be used in their classroom the next day.
