(To) Come and See
By Simone Truong, Anna Massoni, Eilit Marom, Elpida Orfanidou & Adina Secretan | Switzerland
(To) Come and See is a real-time process of working through* the personal and collective eroticism.
Five women are claiming the site of the theatre as their playground, their ecosystem, their habitat. Inside this newly established territory they are activating their sensibilities: touching, making compliments, shifting their attention and gazing back,. This behaviour is stretched over time and space as these women attempt to escape the normative representations of the erotic iconography.
Between proximity and distance, disappearing and presence, a sensual landscape, joyful and uncanny, emerges in front of the eye of the spectator, who is both accomplice and intruder. A landscape that invites both sides to lose themselves and maybe find each other on the way.
*The term "working through” is borrowed from the theories of psycho-analysis and is described as the process in which we learn to recognise and accept the suppressed aspects of our own subconscious. The concept was introduced by Sigmund Freud.
