Brisbane Powerhouse and Sunday Assembly Brisbane present: The official launch of Sunday Assembly Brisbane!
Sunday Assembly is a non-religious congregation that is part godless-church, part-foot stomping show, and 100% celebration of life. It’s aim: to help people live better, help often and wonder more.
Come on down to sing great songs, hear inspiring talks, listen to interesting readings and, everyone’s favourite, have a cup of tea and slice of cake at the end. The theme of the first Assembly is ‘Beginnings’. Sanderson Jones, co-founder of The Sunday Assembly in the UK, will do the address, with a yet-to-be confirmed inspirational local as our first guest speaker.

The launch will be held on the Brisbane Powerhouse’s Turbine Platform, starting at 6:30pm and ending at 8pm. Seating is limited, so be there early, otherwise there will be plenty of standing room. After the November launch, Sunday Assembly Brisbane will meet on the second Sunday of the month at Ashgrove State School. The service in December will focus on the theme of ‘Wonder’ and January’s service will be on ‘Lend a Hand’.
No matter what the subject, the goal of Sunday Assembly Brisbane is to solace worries, provoke kindness and inject a bit more whizziness into the everyday. We’d love you to come down for a get-together that is more spiritually uplifting than a Hey Hey It’s Saturday re-union and more mentally stimulating than the hair of the dog.
