Event description

Description

One of the guiding principles of Vedanta is the understanding all great religions (including Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism) are true, and lead to the same goal.

The discussions to be facilitated at Vedanta Hall will aim to encapsulate the above principle and link it to navigating through everyday life.

Material for discussion for pre-reading can be viewed by clicking on the hyperlinks below:

Islamic Approaches to Keeping Calm (Salman Al Ouda, aboutislam.net),

Advice on Service (Letter by Swami Turiyananda, Ramakrishna Order) and

Buddhist view of the 4 immesurables - Key to Happiness (Buddha Dharma Education Association Inc.: www.buddhanet.net)

All attendees are encouraged to engage in discussion. They tend to be more thought-provoking than anticipated. This will be followed with Afternoon Tea, and insights from an Ordained Nun, Pravrajika Gayatriprana Mataji, President of the Ramakrishna Sarada Vedanta Society of New South Wales. Discussions are facilitated in a calm and supportive environment. To indicate your interest (and others that intend to come along with you), please click register on this site, and follow the steps after. Entrance is free.

For background knowledge (not for this discussion), would recommend reading an introduction to Vedanta and The 4 Paths of Yoga.
