Description

Ever wonder what makes Pokies so addictive? Ka-Ching! Pokie Nation takes you inside the machine to find out.

In this groundbreaking expose, industry insiders reveal exactly how they rig Pokies to keep you hooked. Learn how they work on the deepest levels of our brains and see how our governments became the biggest addicts of all.

Hume City Council, in partnership with Sunbury Community Health, invites you to a screening of Ka-Ching! Pokie Nation. Screening of the documentary will be followed by a Q&A session with a panel of 3 guest speakers: Kelvin Thomson (Campaign Organiser with the Alliance for Gambling Reform); Associate Professor of Public Health, Samantha Thomas (Deakin University); and Bill Veerman who is a community educator with lived experience of problem gambling. Refreshments will also be served.
