Description

Looking for some summer magic? Join Waverley Council’s Summerama 2018 program with exciting activities for everyone to enjoy. Hold and learn about some of the incredible animals who call the ocean and Waverley bushland their home. Participate in fun recycling and litter challenges or just have a chat to our team for tips on how to live more sustainably and get a free reusable water bottle or cup to get you started.

When: Most activities are on Sunday 14 January 2018. One activity is on the 17 Jan and another on the 24.

Activities must be booked separately. Scroll down to book your favourite activities, just look for the BOOK HERE text.

Time: 9am to 1.30pm

Where: Bondi Park .

Activities are FREE but bookings are essential. Please note children must be supervised at all times.

1. Under the Sea Adventure (BOOK HERE)

Join us in this amazing interactive adventure. Learn about the incredible animals who call the ocean their home. Hold live sea animals, examine specimen samples, and discover a large variety of marine artefacts and shells.

2. Backyard Bugs (BOOK HERE)

Get up close to the amazing mini-beasts that live in our gullies and parks. Learn about where they live, how they grow and why they are so important. Don't miss the opportunity to hold and touch many many different bugs in a safe and exciting way!

3. Recycling and litter challenge (BOOK HERE)

Race your way through the world of recycling and what your recyclables get turned into. Do the litter challenge and win wonderful prizes.

4. Nature Craft (BOOK HERE)

Join us in this fun activity to learn how to make amazing craft with objects found in nature.

5. Breakfast with the Birds (BOOK HERE)

Please note this Summerama event is on the 17 JANUARY from 8.30 to 10am

Join ecologist Renee FersLevy for a guided nature walk in Bronte Park and Discover the secrets of Bronte Gully and learn fun facts about local native birds and how we can help them survive in this urban environment. The walk will finish at Bronte Waterfall with fun activities and a late breakfast.

6. Family Bushtcuker Walk and Tasting (BOOK HERE)

Please note this Summerama event is on the 24 JANUARY from 10 to 11.30am

Learn about local indigenous history and culture, native coastal plants and bush tucker gardens. Finish the walk by sampling some bush tucker treats in the shade at Tamarama Gully. Meet at the end of Notts Ave, Bondi at 9.50am.
