An integrative learning opportunity to equip you with the fundamentals of the FODMAP diet and IBS symptom management.

About this Event

Introduction:

Join us for an interactive IBS workshop to discover practical strategies for getting your IBS symptoms under control with 4 leading IBS experts in Perth, Western Australia.

During this 3-hour workshop, you will learn about the 3 pillars for IBS management and discover tips for implementing the low FODMAP diet successfully. We will explore lifestyle approaches for symptom management and finish the morning with a relaxing yoga session.

Main Objectives:

  • Explore the 3 pillars for IBS management
  • Understand key dietary changes you can make to beat the bloat and manage constipation or diarrhoea
  • Learn how to become a savvy shopper during our label reading activity
  • Understand the optimal toilet positioning for effective bowel movements
  • Identify the signs of pelvic floor dysfunction and when to see a specialist physiotherapist
  • How yoga can help with symptom relief and what you can do at home

About our Speakers:

Charlyn Ooi, Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Nutritionist & Credentialed Diabetes Educator – Director of Specialist Dietitian Consultancy & Founder of FODMAP Focus Program

Charlyn Ooi is an Accredited Practising Dietitian & Credentialed Diabetes Educator based in Perth, Western Australia. She graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics and has over 10 years of clinical experience. As a Monash Trained FODMAP Dietitian, Charlyn is well recognised for her expertise in Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and she is passionate about empowering her clients to find long-term relief from their gut symptoms.

Charlyn is known for her no-nonsense approach to nutrition and unique ability to inspire her clients achieve their health goals. Having struggled with gut symptoms for a number of years, she has first-hand experience of what it’s like to live with IBS. She has combined her professional and personal experience to develop the FODMAP Focus Program, a comprehensive and holistic approach to helping IBS sufferers find relief from frustrating gut issues. Shaynie is a University-qualified Nutritionist with a Bachelor of Science & Masters Degree in Human Nutrition. She is passionate about empowering those suffering the symptoms of IBS, to take control of their gut health using credible, science-based resources.

Shaynie is a believer in an integrative, holistic approach to IBS symptom management, therefore her mission in founding & directing FodShop is to provide FODMAP & gut health education & learning in a safe environment which facilitates access to low FODMAP food and FODMAP & gut health experts.

Shaynie is motivated to enable IBS sufferers to regain control of their lives, making patients & consumers the key decision-makers in achieving their own gut health goals.

Esther Mills, Qualified Yoga Instructor - Founder & Director of Daily Blessings Yoga

Esther seeks to integrate the traditional practice of yoga with science. Offering clients the opportunity to explore this ancient practice as it applies to their individual healing journeys. Through her own personal experiences with IBS and Asthma, Esther is able to offer valuable insights and practical yoga sequences to support those facing the challenges of IBS.

Anna White, APA Titled Continence and Women's Health Physiotherapist - PROmotion Health

Anna is a titled Women’s Health and Continence Physiotherapist and has completed her Masters degree in Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapy.

She is passionate about and experienced in treating women and men with bladder and bowel problems, pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction. Anna also specialises in helping women during pregnancy, the post-natal and peri-menopausal phases of their life

Her treatment philosophy is holistic and focuses on empowering her clients to learn about and have control over their symptoms. She loves being able to help people to enjoy all aspects of their life.
