A rare opportunity to hear traditional Japanese music played on a shinobue (a traditional Japanese bamboo flute). Members of the Yamaguchi Shinobue School are visiting Australia for the first time and will be holding just one public performance at the Docklands in Melbourne.
The musicians include current students, teachers and recognised masters, as well as the head of the school (see event photo). You will have the chance to hear songs played by people at all stages of their learning journey with this unique instrument.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There is no age restriction and the performance will be suitable for children.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Trams 11 and 48 will go through to stop D18 and from there it is a short walk to the Library at the Dock.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
No food or drink (besides water) is allowed in the Performance Space.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Please contact Peter Gillam on 0431 503 064.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
It would be a great help if you can. Viewing it on a phone will be just as good and save paper, too!
