About this Event
Zikr (translated as Remembrance) is the rhythmic recital of verses and chants from the Holy Qur'an and blessed recitals in the Arabic language. When recited in congregation and with a dedicated focus, it has the ability to uplift oneself to a state of spiritual delight.
This specific zikr is titled - Khatm-ul-Khwajagan - also known as the "Seal of the Masters". It is a session of spiritual chanting established by Spiritual Masters of the Distinguished Naqshbandi Way (Tariqa Naqshbandiyya 'Aliyya)
The establishment of this gathering has been directed by the current World Spiritual leader of the Distinguished Naqshbandi Way - Mawlana Shaykh Mehmet 'Adil who currently resides in Istanbul, Turkey. Shaykh Mehmet 'Adil comes from a family lineage of saints and also has spiritual authority through a chain of transmission (silsila) that leads to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). His ancestors trace through the lines of renowned spiritual figures such as Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani and Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi amongst many others. Shaykh Mehmet is also the son and successor of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani, who was a pivotal figure in the spreading of the Sufi teachings throughout the world in the 21st Century.
This gathering is also broadcast online for enthusiasts within Australia.
