Kokedama, literally translated from Japanese, means “moss ball”. The kokedama originated in Japan in the 1600’s and they were invented to allow Bonsais to live outside a pot. Kokedama is the practice of removing a root system from its container, surrounding it in a soil, then wrapping it in moss before winding it in string.
Kokedamas are now making a comeback in various forms, shapes and sizes and are used for varying plant types. Kokedamas are versatile and can be hung indoors or outdoors. In this workshop, you will be taken through all the steps to construct your very own succulent kokedamas, and how to look after y juour kokedamas once you have made them. We will be making two medium sized kokedamas (as pictured).
No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided including a complementary cocktail or drink of your choice.
