FAQs:

  • Can I study more than one discipline?

Unfortunately each workshop takes a full day, so participants may only choose one discipline. We offer this event twice per year, so you are welcome to come back and choose another discipline next time!

  • What sort of content is covered, will it be easy or difficult?

These workshops are designed as an introduction to the field, and include beginner degree content. Some participants may find it easy if they have experience in these areas, while others may find the workshops more difficult. Our teaching team have developed lesson plans that aim to balance knowledge levels, however they appreciate your feedback throughout the day to adapt the lessons for everyone.

  • What is the main purpose of this event?

This is not an Open Day. Study For A Day is a full day of classroom learning, where students get the chance to try equipment and software, and work on real coursework, in order to assist with their decision making for future studies. Attendees will spend the day in the classroom and studios, working with our campus lecturers to experience what student life is like at SAE.

  • Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Yes - this event is open to anyone aged 15yrs or over (Year 10), due to the tertiary level of the lessons.

  • What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Parking: There is very limited parking available around the Brisbane campus due to busy weekend events in West End, including the Davies Park Market across the road and the Boundary St Markets.

We recommend choosing public transport, or using the larger Secure Parking areas on Melbourne St and Cordelia St. For more information, visit our Campus Transport page, or http://www.secureparking.com.au/find-parking. The closest bus station is Montague Road at Donkin St (Stop 7), while the closest train station is South Brisbane (approx 1.7kms from campus).

  • Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

No, unfortunately all tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Spaces are very limited, due to the popularity of this event, so we want to ensure everyone has an opportunity to attend.

  • Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

You can phone us on 07 3850 2000 or email us at brisbane@sae.edu.
