Professor Bob Hill, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Sciences requests your presence to acknowledge the research and findings from our Science students. The presentations (3.30pm - 4pm) will be followed by the Faculty End of Year Event where all staff & students are acknowledged for their achievements in 2016.
Students from the Faculty of Sciences will present their research findings based on the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Report. They looked at 3 aspects within the report for their research:
- The report states that the climate in SA is ideal for a repository and the students examined this proposition in the context of the climate at the 3 proposed sites as well as other locations.
- The students examined these over a 15 million year timescale as this is the time period over which the waste is most hazardous.
- The students investigated the best conditions for a buried repository at the 3 proposed sites and other locations.
