Strength Based Approach – Bernadette Glass – Free Community Information (BE...
Tue. 23 May 2017, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm AEST
Bernadette Glass & Associates (BG&A) is a Melbourne-based service that supports the human services sector across Australia and we warmly welcome Bernadette to our communities.
The strength-based approach is an approach to people that views situations realistically and looks for opportunities to complement and support existing strengths and capacities as opposed to focusing on, and staying with, the problem or concern. The strength-based approach consists of questioning strategies to identify what works for the young person and how it works so that those strategies can be continued and developed to match the young person’s abilities.
Bernadette will discuss the foundations of engagement and promote effective practices.
This session forms part of an initiative to support community and is free to registered Adult Allies and Community/Group Members. Additional tickets are available to businesses and service providers at a discounted cost of $30 (+GST) per head to encourage community resilience and youth engagement. Tickets and a tax invoice can be arranged by contacting NELLEN. Anyone requiring further information can contact NELLEN's Community Development Officer Vanessa O’Loughlin direct on 0418 312 556 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Adult Allies – Navigator is funded by the Victorian Government and managed by North East Local Learning and Employment Network, Junction Support Services, and North East Tracks Local Learning and Employment Network.
