This workshop works with participants to identify a range of social, communication, behaviour and sensory strategies that can be used to support individuals on the spectrum. Presenters model a range of strategies explicitly so that participants can gain a clear idea about how to implement a specific skill. Strategies are practical, relevant and evidence based. Participants will gain hands-on experience in using and implementing these strategies which are suitable for use in a range of environments for a range of individuals.
Participants are encouraged to share strategies that have worked for them in the past as well as brainstorm future strategies to be tweaked or put in place. It is recommended that participants attend ‘Understanding the Autism Spectrum’ prior to this workshop unless they have a sound knowledge of the spectrum prior.
