The Chinese visitor market now is worth about $9.2 billion to the Australian visitor economy. According to Tourism Australia, a significant number of the 1.2 million Chinese visitors to Australia each year are choosing to take their holiday to coincide with the festivities. The two months that straddle the Chinese New Year holiday period, is predicted about 140,000 visitors to upward of 250,000 visitors in 2018.
