A black comedy tracing the roots of betrayal; a tragedy about what we cannot forgive in the people we love. Strata, by Peter Beaglehole, and Forgiveness, by Piri Eddy, are two new one-act plays shortlisted for Adelaide Festival’s Jill Blewett Playwriting Award. These muscular, challenging and entertaining new perspectives on contemporary Australia examine relationships between people and the land we live on. Paired together, the double-bill reveals how communities cannibalise themselves as resources shrink. With directors Tiffany Lyndall-Knight, Anthony Nicola and designer Meg Wilson, Strata and Forgiveness showcase the talents of South Australia’s emerging and established theatre makers.
