STRANGE ATTRACTOR: dance | development | discussion
strange attractor: the space in the middle is a project of Ausdance ACT independently managed by the Strange Attractor Team, who are supported by QL2 Dance and Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres.
Strange Attractor is a week long, choreographic development platform for nine independent dance artistic provocation from Melbourne based, Natalie Cursio.
The project will culminate in two showings including artist discussions and a photography exhibition on Saturday 16th August at 6 - 8pm and Sunday 17th August at 5 -7pm at QL2 Theatre, Gorman House Arts Centre, Braddon, ACT. The focus for the project is not to view a finished product but for artists to interrogate their creative approach amongst their peers and to provide audiences insight into choreographic process.
The program includes development of Jamie Winbank's "Sonder" which explores the interconnectedness of humans be it online, passing by or a real physical/intellectual/emotion connection. Amelia McQueen will continue to develop her process of drawing from verbal language translated into physical and vocal rhythmic patterns. Continuing her interest in the interface of place and movement, Alison Plevey will investigate issues of locational identity and spatial dynamics that constantly, often unconsciously, impact our patterns of existence.
