Storytelling for Transition
Wed. 2 November 2016, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm AEDT
Transitions are hard: sickness, immigration, loss, divorce - they all force us to reassess who we are, what we stand for, and what actually matters. But one of the greatest gifts that transitions offer us is that they make for great stories. And as we learn to see - and share - these difficult times as stories, we are better able to clarify what they mean to us. Weaving a story about our transitions helps us get distance from these events and make sense of them. And most importantly, it empowers us to share these tales of transitions - and the lessons we learnt - with others. Through a mix of presentations and exercises, this workshop will introduce you to the fundamental aspects of storytelling, and help you to begin crafting your own story to use in your professional or personal toolbox. About the Facilitator Dalit Kaplan is a former lawyer and theatre addict. Born and bred in Melbourne, she has studied, worked and lived in the Middle East and the USA.
