Storytelling for Seniors - An Afternoon of Shared Storytelling
Event Information
Description
Your story is a legacy, a gift to future generations and a way to connect with your history, your truth and your values.
Life is a story....it's never too late to share your story. Come along and celebrate Remembrance Day with an afternoon of shared storytelling hosted by storytelling consultants Lisa Evans and Nicky Howe of Third Act Storytelling™
Only you can bring your unique perspective to the world, and your story might be the key to helping you — and others — heal, build resiliency, and create a vibrant future.
Our seniors are the mentors that came before us and paved the way for our future.
Our seniors make beautiful storytellers and at a Third Act Storytelling™ session, we provide a facilitated, fun and safe 'story space' where they can share their real-life experiences with others. It is a unique way to educate and inspire other generations.
When we share our stories, we are learning about each others history and culture and the stories we share make a difference in the world.
With the wisdom experience, as well as the life stories of their parents and grandparents, seniors who attend a Third Act Storytelling™ session can begin the journey of leaving a legacy that will last for generations.
Even older adults with memory loss have seen benefits from learning the skill of storytelling, also when the story isn’t wholly their own. Even for people with dementia, storytelling can be therapeutic. (reference here)
Our seniors are our mentors and wise folk that came before us and paved the way for our future.
"Your story is worth sharing. The final chapter hasn't been written yet".
