Description

North Sydney Council is pleased to announce the Story to Screen: Youth Digital Storytelling Project Final Presentation for 2017!

Please join us to view storytelling projects including short films and photography by 26 local high school students. Exploring narrative, storytelling and the documentary through the lens of a still or video camera, Story to Screen showcases the unique viewpoints and perspectives of local youth. These thoughtful student projects were developed over a six-week program of hands-on workshops with creative industry professionals, where students had the opportunity to explore what is important to them as individuals. Working closely with their mentors, each student was guided to create, edit and share a powerful story on what it means to be an individual and part of a community, considering the many ways that we might be shaped by our experiences, possessions, education, neighbourhood, the media, technology, family, cultural background, appearance or our relationship to the landscape or environment.

For the duration of the exhibition, visitors are encouraged to vote in the People’s Choice Award, where the two students with the most engaging works will win a GoPro!

Exhibition Open to the Public:
