Stories of Life Symposium UnitingCare Community Disability Service
"What does it take for people we support to create life stories that are full, inclusive and personally meaningful?"
Our organisation is on a journey of continued learning about how we can work alongside people to create life stories inclusive of:
- Opportunities to imagine and achieve personally meaningful lives
- The choice for people to lead lives that are purposeful and aspirational
- Empowerment and belief to realise their unique contribution
- Relationships and connections that in turn decrease dependency on paid supports
Our speakers will take us on a journey from learning about the power of story with international guest speaker Mary Alice Arthur to witnessing stories of life from people supported by UnitingCare and their supporters.
Who should attend?
Anyone interested in understanding what it takes to work together to create life stories that are filled with meaning, purpose and real opportunities for contribution. This might include people supported by UnitingCare, families and supporters, employees of UnitingCare and Blue Care Disability Services.
You will have the opportunity to connect with others on this journey, be inspired by stories of life, share part of your story, and explore new ways forward. So come along and join the conversation.
