Event Details

A key challenge in today's business environment is standing apart from the crowd in a meaningful and valuable way. While promises of quality customer service appear to provide a differential, all business make this claim and so consumers have understandably become sceptical. When everyone looks and sounds the same - price demonstrates the decision process and your profit margins become even tighter.

The secret sauce to maximising profit is building a strong brand that resonates with your target market and is perceived to deliver value over and above your competitors. This Stirling Speakers will outline the fundamentals of building a strong brand and provide guidelines on how you can grow the value of your brand. Using these fundamentals, every business has the potential to move from being a price taker to a price maker, maximising profit through a strong brand.

Your speaker:

Pete is best described as a ‘creative’ strategic planner or to put simply, an ideas man. He enjoys a challenge and is driven by a passion to develop rigorous new ideas and strategies to enable businesses to break through the consumer clutter.

Pete started his career in the public sector managing communications across the Western Australian grains, wool and new agriculture industry sectors. He then joined the private sector where he worked in senior strategic planning roles at Marketforce, Jack in the box and braincells. Building on solid agency experience, Peter then became the national marketing and sales manager for a national solar company. This involved developing and implementing national marketing campaigns, managing an in-house call centre and coordinating a national sales team.

Having developed a strong track record for results in competitive markets, Pete was keen to share his experience with other businesses to help them grow and prosper. With a view to do things his way, The Space Station was born. Over the past 10 years, Pete has been working with businesses across a diversity of sectors to help them own and grow 'clear space' for their company and brands.

In recognition of his passion and capacity for marketing Pete is also a sessional academic teaching marketing at both Curtin University of Technology and Murdoch University. He has also developed and delivered both the marketing and sales modules as part of the Business Foundation Growth Program (previously Curtin Growth Program).
