Event description
QUT's STEM for Schools program invites registered home-schooled students to two of our most popular STEM Workshops.

About this Event

Take part in the home-schooling workshop opportunity for a full or half day of interactive and exciting STEM activities.

Choose to attend just one or both of the below popular STEM workshops:

9:00am - 11:30am Arduino Blink Challenge

12:30pm - 3:00pm Code a Solar System

Both workshops are suited to a beginner (Years 7-8) level and touch on topics such as coding, robotics, mathematics and technology.

Important Notes:

  • Please be aware that workshops are run in a classroom style under school based social distancing requirements. This means that students will be seated together at tables, though all adults (facilitators and teachers/parents) will have sufficient space to maintain the required 1.5m distance. Read full workshop safety guidelines here.
  • Workshops require a minimum of 16 students to proceed and are subject to changes in government or university Covid-19 policies.
  • Workshops are not catered. If you’re on campus for lunch, students and parents/caregivers are welcome to bring their own lunch or there are a variety of food outlets on campus.
  • Enclosed footwear is to be worn by all students and parents attending the workshops.
  • Cancellations - If you or your child are feeling unwell please notify us and do not attend the workshop. If you cannot make the workshop for any other reason or change your mind, please notify us as soon as possible so that we may open the space for another student.
