Event description

Description

On behalf of the Business Centre, Regional Development Australia and the Department of Defence, you are invited to join us at the Business Centre for an extraordinary event where 10 outstanding high school students will pitch their inventions for the STEM Defence Pitch Night!

The STEM Innovation + Defence program is a collaborative project between Regional Development Australia, the Department of Defence and the Business Centre.

These 10 bright students dreamt up a range of projects from mind-controlled prosthetic hands through to rockets, drones and autonomous trolleys. For months their teacher David Bonzo at St Philip’s Christian College has guided through experiment and technology development.

Thanks to a Federal Scholarship from the Department of Defence, these students have been supported to pursue their innovative ideas to the commercialisation stage through the Business Centre's incubator program. They are now ready to pitch!

6 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, 8 May, at the Business Centre, 6 Dick Street, Newcastle West.

Following the pitches, guests are invited to join us at the Parry St Garage (106 Parry St, Newcastle West) for networking and refreshments. If you need assistance to start, run or grow your business contact the team at the Business Centre.

Parking: Metered parking is available directly in front of the building on Dick Street (free after 5 pm).

Accessibility: If you have access needs, please contact us and we will accommodate you.

This business seminar, under the Business Connect program, is funded and supported by the NSW Government through the NSW Department of Industry.
