The second workshop after the one first sold out! Learn how to design and create a steampunk prop using EVA foam, acrylic paints and LEDs.
About this event
Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction that incorporates retro-futuristic technology mixed with 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. Join Grace Jefferson for a steampunk prop creation and painting workshop.
You will learn how to design and create a steampunk prop using EVA foam and acrylic paints to modify a toy Nerf gun, practice and apply painting techniques to simulate metal and wood, and seal your finished prop. You will also learn about creating a basic LED lighting circuit to include in your prop. The techniques you learn can be applied to any other prop or costume making using EVA foam.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of ability and all materials are supplied including paints, drawing materials, foam, hot glue guns and a Nerf gun to modify and take home. Please note that we will be using sharp blades to cut foam, and hot glue guns to attach pieces during the prop creation.
This workshop is presented as part of the exhibition Murky Members Show at Murky Waters Studio.
Please do not attend if unwell. Full refund available if the event is cancelled due to COVID related circumstances.
