Event description

Beat the winter blues and head outside into nature for your dose of "Vitamin N." I know all the places around Melbourne to get outside and stay healthy and happy through the winter season. I guarantee smiles and warm hands by the end of the hike!

Talking yourself into taking a walk when the temperatures plummet isn’t easy, but the benefits are big: Spending time outside (even when it's chilly!) can improve focus, reduce symptoms of SAD, and lower stress levels.

Join me on a wellness hike that suits all levels of fitness.

With each stride and energetic step, hiking not only is a tremendous exercise for the body, but also the mind. The focus on nature allows you to tune into yourself as well as your surroundings. The fresh air during hiking provides a vital stimulus for your workout encompassing body, mind and soul.

  • Hiking can be a great cardio exercise

  • Lowers risk of heart disease

  • Lowers blood pressure

  • Known to control or even cure type two diabetes

  • Strength conditioning – Not only lower body, but the entire package

  • Weight control

  • Stress and anxiety relief – Whenever you feel overwrought, anxious, or worried the trails are the best prescription

  • Mood lift – Hiking lifts our spirits

  • Energy boost –Hiking is not only a physical boost, but spiritually uplifting.

Our Women’s Wellness Hikes are designed to boost your health, well-being and general fitness. The emphasis is very much on health and fitness in a natural setting (as opposed to an indoor gym).

This is an easy three-hours hike. It is scheduled specifically for those who wish to start exploring nature and hiking to regain fitness as well as physical and spiritual well-being.

Even if you have not hiked before: our gentle warm-up and cool-down exercises will prepare you for a range of light to vigorous activities to suit all abilities. You will notice positive changes in your fitness level nearly immediately.

We stop to enjoy the natural surroundings, taking in the "medicine of the forest"

And for the first time, these walks will incorporate Qigong! Read more about this ancient health practice here http://inmynature.life/shinrin-yoku-australia/qigong/

The number of participants is limited to 10. So, please note: first come - first serve!
