Australia and Japan this year celebrated 60 years since trade ties were formalised through the signing of the 1957 Australia-Japan Commerce Agreement. In the decades since, the bilateral relationship has grown to encompass not only trade and investment but security, cultural and strong people-to-people links. Australia’s trade relationship with Japan is now one of its strongest and most important in the region. With the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement (JAEPA) now almost three years old, close scrutiny is being paid to whether both countries can grow the relationship further and deliver on the agreement’s cross-sector potential.
This series provides updates on Japan and reveals powerful insights and the latest market intelligence. An expert panel will provide an update on Japan’s current economic situation and what the future holds for Australian businesses with interests in the country.
