Event description

Description

The StartupSmart Awards are an annual celebration of Australia’s new companies with big dreams and smart plans. With new businesses launching every year and spanning every industry, the awards are an opportunity to showcase the variety and vibrancy of Australia’s start-up sector. Because no start-up is easy, we’ll be naming the leading start-ups at a ticketed event where start-up leaders will share their biggest mistakes and how they survived.

The State of the Australian Startup Ecosystem

We’ve gathered some of the biggest movers and shakers in the startup sphere to participate in our first ever panel discussion.

Moderated by StartupSmart’s editor-at-large Bronwen Clune, the panel will examine the state of the Australian startup ecosystem. Join BlueChilli’s CEO Sebastien Eckersley-Maslin, AirTree Ventures investment manager Paul Bennetts, investment director at Blue Sky Venture Capital Elaine Stead and partner at DFK Gooding Partners Adrian van Dam.

We have also secured as a special guest speaker, Vinomofo co-founder Andre Eikmeier whose online wine site has grown to one of Australia’s Startup success stories, growing in 3 years from 2 people in a garage in Adelaide to a team of over 50, with 300,000 members and over $50 million in revenue.

Of course the highlight of the evening remains the chance to celebrate among the best from the startup scene with the announcement of the 2015 StartupSmart Awards Winners!

Don’t miss out on your chance to be a part of an exciting conversation between Australia’s most knowledgeable startup experts and the celebration of the 2015 StartupSmart Award winners.

Proudly brought to you by StartupSmart and DFK ANZ.
