Learn about giving public, online feedback safely where your experience can be used to influence change and staff morale.
About this event
Care Opinion is an independent site for the consumers, families and carers of those who have accessed aged, health, and community services in Australia. Care Opinion gives you a public voice to share your experience about the services you use.
Care Opinion is safe, confidential and independent of services and authorities. We work with individuals and services to moderate stories to keep the process of sharing experiences safe and constructive for everyone. Sharing your stories about health and care services on Care Opinion will help make services better.
In this workshop, we give you a better understanding of the Care Opinion platform, including:
- what a story is
- how the platform works to connect you with your service
- why services want to connect with you in this way
- how the moderation process works
- how to access your published story and, if applicable, the service's response to it
- how to see who has read your story and if any changes have been made as a result of it.
We will also guide you through the storytelling process.
During this time, you are welcome to follow along using your own device and submit your own story to the platform.
Customised workshops are also available for your community group. Contact our team at info@careopinion.org.au or phone 07 3354 4525.
The Western Australia Health Consumers Council (HCC) have developed a video featuring a consumers who has shared her story on the Care Opinion platform.
Please see the HCC's video (shared with permission) to see how storytelling can be a powerful influence on service improvement and passing compliments respectively.
