Event description

Description

Please note that this is a two part workshop taking place on the 27th of October and the 3rd of November, between 2pm and 5pm.

Thoughts are a dime a dozen and you could be sitting on some really lucrative ones. But how do you convert a thought into a company and then to a business? This two-part workshop will help new and aspiring entrepreneurs learn and develop strategies to carry out their company's mission, hit the ground running, and to then take themselves to market. But don't expect a boring lecture! Upstarts is an immersive and interactive workshop for new venture creators to learn in a collaborative, hands-on way.

What you will take away:

- Ideas: Dive into the thinking process and learn methods to understand and define your business.

- Starting: Explore how you can grow, explore and evaluate solutions to your problems.

- Staying Alive: What is #startuplife and how is it more than sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice.

- Focus: Where should your goals lie, what's stopping you and how do you beat them?

This course is ideal for:

New or old entrepreneurs, leaders, managers, developers, engineers, marketing strategists, designers or anybody interested in starting or who have started their own start-up.

Meet the Facilitator: Chris Raethke

Chris Raethke, co-founder of Bugcrowd, regularly mentors and hosts technical information sessions for local start-ups. While he has been in that #startup life internationally since 2003, his latest enterprise, Pinch Labs, is based right out of Brisbane. His approach to mentoring local start-ups like Vygo, includes taking the time to understand an individual's business and applying his invaluable international experience. Chris brings the Silicon Valley thinking style and feel, whilst keeping the unique Aussie culture, into all aspects of building a start-up including tech, marketing, team culture, operations and customer health.
