Event Details

TasRes is delighted to offer writers interested in self-publishing the opportunity to attend a weekend residential retreat in North West Tasmania’s picturesque and historic township of Stanley. This quirky little town — located at one of Australia’s furthermost points — is an ideal place for writers to relax and reflect, gain inspiration, develop their technology skills, network with other writers and enjoy the local cuisine and pristine wilderness.

The retreat will focus on all aspects of self-publishing and provide writers with the technological know-how to self-publish confidently. The weekend will also involve an exploration of Stanley’s many sights including The Nut and its wharves and walking trails.

Workshops include Indesign and Photoshop sessions and converting manuscripts for print and digital distribution.

TasRes Art and Technology

TasRes Art and Technology offer unique retreats in Tasmania.

The retreats have two aims: digital and artistic.

Artists and writers engage in a variety of  digital design workshops to acquire skills and confidence to incorporate cutting-edge digital technology into their work and promote themselves online.

The residential retreats allow artists to immerse themselves in the unique Tasmanian environment and to investigate issues of conservation and ecology.

Although the retreats have a strong art-making focus, they also incorporate visits to galleries, walks in the Tasmanian wilderness, sailing on the exquisite waterways (in the capable hands of an eco-tourism operator), visits to wineries and the producers of the uniquely flavoured Tasmania chocolate.

As part of our holistic approach we ensure participants have time to unwind and relax. This may include gentle yoga and mindfulness meditation sessions.
