About this Event
This course is held over 2 consecutive days.
20 January / 3 February 2021 from 10.30am - 4.30pm for each day.
You will learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan.This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
Learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.
This is an education course, to learn how to give first aid to others, and is not a therapy or support group.
Training is delivered by Principle Master Instructor, Teresa Barter.
COVID-19 Information
This training is delivered to a group of no more than 6 participants, plus the trainer. This is to cater to the requirements of social distancing and COVID-19 restrictions (the venue only caters maximum 7 persons) currently in place.
