Stage 5 English/Drama Excursion - Macbeth Performance

Year 9 Drama and Year 10 English students have the opportunity to attend a performance of 'Macbeth' at Riverside Theatre.
About this event
In Term 2, students from Year 10 will undertake a critical study into Shakespeare’s tragedy, ‘Macbeth’. To enrich their engagement in this unit, Year 10 will be attending a live production of the play. In order to continue to facilitate their understanding of theatre and the mechanisms of performance, Year 9 Drama students also have the opportunity to attend this excursion.
Time leaving campus and how: Students are to arrive at school at the usual school time and will attend their Period 1 classes. They will eat their recess and then proceed to the front of the school for 10:15am, where we will be using the ACC bus to take students to Riverside Theatre, for an 11:00am arrival.
Time of production and end: Students will arrive at the theatre by 11:00am, for an 11:30am performance. The production concludes at 1:30pm. Students will eat a packed lunch at Prince Alfred Square (a park next to the theatre). The school bus will depart Riverside Theatre by 2:15pm, so that students will arrive at school by the conclusion of the school day (3:10pm) and will be able to make their regular transportation home.
What to wear: Students must be in full winter school uniform.
What to bring: Students may bring a small bag to the theatre with their lunch and a bottle of water. They are to bring their regular ACC school bags to school with them on the Thursday and pack a small bag that they are permitted to bring with them to the theatre.
