JOIN US FOR OUR 2019 ULTIMATE SPORTS LUNCH

St Peters Lutheran College brings you the Sports Lunch 2019 at the Hillstone, St Lucia. Hear from past and present sporting names, as they impart their words of wisdom and wit during the afternoon.

Guest speaker Pat Howard is an elite sportsman having represented Queensland Reds, ACT Brumbies, Leicester (UK) and the Wallabies in a stellar Rugby career. Pat played 20 tests for the Wallabies as either a flyhalf or inside centre and was part of winning Super 10, European Cup and English Champion teams. Whilst playing rugby at the highest levels he completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at UQ.

The Q&A panel has a great line up of guests:

Since bursting onto the Dolphins’ national team in 2017, St Peters Alumni Ariarne Titmus, has no doubt made her presence felt on swimming’s world stage. Representing Australia at her international long course debut – the 2017 World Championships – Titmus claimed a bronze medal in the Women’s 4x200m Freestyle Relay. The following year in 2018 – and at just 18 years of age – she smashed her 400m freestyle PB and in the process, broke the world record at the World Short Course Championships in Hangzhou. Earning the nickname, ‘The Terminator’, Titmus trains at St Peters Western under renown coach, Dean Boxall.

Adelaide United star Jon McKain started playing professional soccer in the old NSL as a 17-year-old for Brisbane Strikers in 1999. His career has taken him to Romania to play for five years, New Zealand for two years, Saudi Arabia for one year and Australia. Jon represented Australia in the Under 20 World Cup in Argentina in 2001, the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, made his debut for the Socceroos in 2004 and worn the sacred shirt on 18 occasions.

Professional triathlete Felicity Abram represents Australia in this incredibly gurelling multisport event. Felicity has been involved in a variety of sports from an early age and always enjoyed pushing herself to the limit; to see how far she can go. That’s why she ultimately settled on Triathlon. In the last few years her chosen sport has allowed her to travel the world, experience different cultures and compete at the highest level. Felicity says "being able to compete for my country is the highest honour possible – and is something for which I will always strive."

MC for the event will be AFL Legend Richard Champion, or ‘Champs’ as most Queenslanders know him now. Champs is a Media Personality with an extensive sporting background. He's played in the AFL as a professional athlete for over 14 years, including 10 years with the Brisbane Bears/Brisbane Lions.

Great silent auction items and raffle prizes will be on offer.
