Don't be the victim of NBN Transition Downtime!
The May 2014 copper telephone network switch off deadline is getting close.
Many of us have either experienced or heard of horror stories of businesses transitioning their phone and internet services across to the NBN. One of the biggest issues is downtime - the period when your phones and internet stop working, which can last days or, in some cases, weeks - not good for business.
The frustrating part about this downtime is that it is actually not necessary: the NBN is a completely new service and there is nothing to stop you having both your old and new services active at the same time. Unfortunately it appears that the major carriers do not have processes in place to do this - they have to disconnect your old service first. Any delay in the NBN install will extend this downtime.
At this meeting we will be discussing what's involved with the transition, how to prepare yourself for it and plan for it properly so that you can minimise your downtime.
Damian Ivereigh, from Launceston based company Launtel, will be sharing his experiences of performing the transition and how best to do it.
We will providing the legendary Tidal Waters Resort food, wine and beer for your refreshment.
There are only 30 spots, so don't miss out!
