About

A three part seminar covering the nutritional, physical and psychological aspects of gut health and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptom management prior to, and during family planning.

Pregnancy is an exciting time in a woman's life.

It can, however, prove challenging for women trying to conceive, and women who are currently pregnant, who also have IBS. Having IBS means you are suffering from a range of debilitating symptoms including bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea or alternating bowel habits chronically, a consequence of which is fear of food, a restrictive diet and poor nutritional quality of life.

It is important to eat well for the healthy growth & development of your baby, and for your current health now and in the long term. Women who have IBS who are also pregnant need to take a little extra care to be careful not to trigger undesirable IBS symptoms, while also factoring in the unique nutritional requirements that pregnancy demands throughout each trimester.

Come and join us for an afternoon of learning about gut health & IBS management in pregnancy, where you will hear from a Pregnancy & Gut Health Dietitian, Exercise Physiologist & Gut-directed Hypnotherapist, who will provide you will holistic self-care strategies throughout pregnancy.

About Melinda:

Melinda has a strong interest in gut health in particular Irritable Bowel Syndrome, food intolerances and allergies. Melinda herself has experienced how food intolerances can impact on everyday living and therefore she is very passionate about helping women to be able to understand and better manage their own gut symptoms.

Melinda is also proud to be a partner with Nutrition Plus, an Australia-wide team of Accredited Practising Dietitians specialising in fertility and prenatal nutrition.

Katie Palmer, Accredited Exercise Physiologist, The Sports Injury Clinic

Katie's topics:

✓ The common physical health issues affecting pregnant women and how to overcome these, including pain & pain management.

About Katie:

Graduating in 2012 from the University of Ballarat (now Federation University Australia) from Exercise and Sport Science, then following on to the Graduate Diploma of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2013.

Katie enjoys working with a broad spectrum of clients. She is passionate about helping new mums get back into their post baby fitness routines, running the Mums and Bubs group exercise sessions, as well as working 1:1. Katie also works with couples and friends who want to sweat and improve together.

Georgina Mitchell - Clinical Hypnotherapist, Hypfocus

Georgina's topics:
