Description

Come and join GFSG Inc at Casula Powerhouse these Spring school holidays! Whether it is Shakesperean drama, S.T.E.A.M activities, or drama games, there is something for everyone aged 4-14!

Workshops will be run by staff of the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, and supported by GFSG Inc committee volunteers. Morning and afternoon workshops are available, with options for children aged 4-6, 7-9 and 10-14 years.

Casula Powerhouse provides the following workshop information:

"All of our art teachers are trained, practicing industry professionals and educators. Visual Arts activities will involve a variety of arts materials and possibly the use of cutting tools. All materials and props are supplied by Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and students are able to take home all artwork produced in class."

For the single-session workshops, a range of activities will be planned, and selected according to the skills, abilities and interests of each group on the day. S.T.E.A.M workshops will focus on visual arts on this occasion. Drama Games workshops will challenge children to push their comfort zones and grow in confidence as they work together to complete a range of games focusing on skills such as improvisation, observation and collaboration.

For the older students, the dual workshop will focus on a specific Shakesperean play, provided on the day. Sessions will include discussion to facilitate comprehension of the play, integrated with practical experience working together to act out key scenes.

Children participating in drama workshops should wear comfortable casual clothing and are required to wear enclosed shoes (such as joggers).

Children participating in S.T.E.A.M workshops should wear clothes suitable for art activities. They may bring a paintshirt and are required to wear enclosed shoes (such as joggers).

All children may bring a water bottle but are encouraged to eat snacks before or after their workshops as breaktimes have not been allocated during the two-hour sessions.

Children aged 4-6 years can enrol in a S.T.E.A.M Activities workshop.
