Speechcraft Train-the-Trainer Workshop

Have you heard about Speechcraft? Have you wanted to learn just what it takes to organise and conduct a Speechcraft Program and didn’t know where to start?

Now’s your chance to learn from our experienced District 17 Speechcraft Manager, Maree Pickens at her Speechcraft Train-the-Trainer Workshop.

What is Speechcraft?

Speechcraft courses are fast-track courses designed to teach participants the fundamentals of public speaking and provide a supportive environment for them to rapidly build these skills with repeated practice at workshops run over six weeks.

About the Workshop

This workshop will provide:

  • an extensive overview of the Speechcraft program and how it is managed from enquiries from the public to enrolling participants, running the course and distribution of funds.
  • details of the course itself, materials available and practical advice in how to run Speechcraft.
  • review the different roles, options and practical realities for running Speechcraft in the public program, in your local club or at a local business.

Why Should You Attend?

Speechcraft Train-the-Trainer workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to coordinate one of the public Speechcraft courses or run a version of the program at their club.

It is also ideal for anyone who would like to assist in a Speechcraft course as well as for club members who want to better understand how assisting or running a Speechcraft program can benefit their club.

Benefits

  • Members who coordinate and conduct a Speechcraft program meet the criteria to conduct a presentation from the Success/Communication Series as one of the requirements for the Advanced Communication Gold Award
  • Members who assist a Speechcraft coordinator benefit from the refresher training in basic principles of public speaking as well as the personal pride taken in helping a participant overcome their fears and build their confidence in such a short time.
  • Speechcraft is also a proven way to build club membership. Many members have joined after participating in Speechcraft programs.
  • There is also the financial benefit for the club from the distribution of fees to the helpers’ clubs to help fund the clubs’ educational activities.

You can purchase the Speechcraft Handbook and Information Pack for $10 on the day before the commencement of workshop.
