Event description

Description

While the choices for communicating with others today may seem limitless, one of the most effective and proven methods of engaging an audience is still to speak with them in person.

The audience you present to may be one person or thousands, they might be online or sitting in front of you, but you must be able to clearly articulate your case in a manner that is interesting and inspiring.

A well-written speech can not only be educational, but facilitate support and change perceptions.

This workshop will help you understand the foundations of a successful speech. Learn the tips and techniques that make the difference between a good speech and a great one.

During the workshop, you will write a speech with the assistance of experienced communications consultant and trainer, Kristen Connell. Together you will develop a template for writing a ‘can’t fail’ speech any time you need.

The workshop provides participants with skills in:
• Preparing a speech;
• Tailoring your speech to the audience;
• Structuring a speech to engage the audience and keep their interest;
• Using appropriate material to help the audience understand your message;
• Preparing key messages that will resonate with an audience;
• How to rehearse and edit your speech; and
• The importance of body language and tone.

Following the workshop you will have the opportunity to refine your speech and receive feedback from Kristen and even spend more one-on-one time with her to ensure you are ready to perform!

A light lunch will be provided.

Who is this workshop for?
