Spectrum Tuition | The Selective Schools Mock Exam 2017
Sun., 14/05/2017, 9:00 am – Sun., 21/05/2017, 2:00 pm AEST
The Spectrum Tuition selective schools mock exam is the best way to prepare for the Victorian Selective Schools Exam.
During our 2 day program we prepare you by running a full simulated exam (3 hours) with questions that are designed to replicate the feel and style of the selective schools exam. We follow that up with a 4-hour feedback session the next Sunday.
Get ready for exam day by completing the Spectrum Tuition Simulated Exam (14th May & 21st May 2017).
Prepare By Doing Real Exam Style Questions
Sitting a full-length trial selective schools exam under full exam conditions should be a crucial step in every students’ preparation plan. Our mock exam is designed to provide the most realistic experience outside the actual exam so students know exactly what to expect before the actual test day. In addition to this, we will run a 4-hour interactive workshop the following day to walk students through the questions that were commonly answered incorrectly. We encourage parents to sit in on this session so they also understand what is required in the lead up to the exam.
This is designed to ensure students receive the feedback they need to tune their performance.
How Are The Two Days Structured?
The Spectrum Tuition selective schools simulated exam will take students’ exam preparation to the next level. The process will take students through a 7 hour (3-hour simulated exam and 4-hour workshop) immersive experience to really prepare them for the Victorian selective schools exam.
Day 1 (Sunday, 14th May 2017)

Day 2 (Sunday, 21st May 2017)
10:00am - 2:00pm
On day 2 you’ll participate in a 4-hour workshop that will go through answers to the more challenging questions. During our correction session (prior to the workshop) we’ll analyse the questions students struggled with and devote time in the workshop to answering those specific questions. In previous years, students have noted that they found this session to be one of the most useful aspects of the event.
Why Students Should Sit The Selective Schools Simulated Exam?
They’ve Never Sat A 3 Hour Exam
Most students who are preparing for the Melbourne High, MacRob, Nossal High and Suzanne Cory High School entrance test have never sat a 3-hour exam. In fact, for most students the first time they’ll ever sit such a long and high-pressure test is on the day of the actual exam! By sitting our simulated exam, the fear and anxiety is likely to be reduced so that on the day of the exam, students know what to expect, know how to manage their nerves and are ready to perform at their best.
To Receive Feedback On All The Tricky Questions
While the exam questions are still fresh in students’ minds, we will conduct a feedback workshop the very next day. This is a 3-hour workshop where we will go through the tricky questions that students answered incorrectly.
To Form A Study Plan
The last few weeks before the exam can prove to be a critical time for many students in their preparation process. Our simulated exam provides students with a real understanding of where their weaknesses lie. In the past, our students have used their simulated exam results to formulate a ‘plan of attack’ for the topics they need the most assistance with.
Below are answers to commonly asked questions. If you have any further questions about our simulated exam please feel free to contact us on 1800 668 177.
