Event description

Description

A one day training day will be provided as part of the Community, Respect and Equality Primary Prevention of Family Violence Summit activities. This family and domestic violence training aims to explore current interventions in our work with women experiencing violence as well as our work with men using violence and abuse in their families.

Suitable for practitioners who work in AOD, mental health, counselling, corrective services, police, child protection and frontline responses to FDV. This training works through pragmatic strategies and explores how our approaches can make a difference to women’s decision making and to men’s choices to use abuse. The training will work through:

· Screening, risk assessment and risk management

· Response based practice

· What works with men’s behaviour change programs

· Women’s groups and interventions with women in counselling

Facilitated by Tori Cooke, Consultant, Pandora Enterprise Projects. Tori is a skilled clinical supervisor and trainer across specialist services including men’s behaviour change programs and teams that work with vulnerable women.
