Autism SA presents a workshop specifically designed for Special Needs Coordinators who work in the school environment.
This workshops is an interactive workshop which provides coordinators an opportunity to network with others while increasing their own knowledge and understanding of the Autism Spectrum.
The workshop will include-
• The changes to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Disorders (DSM-5)
• Outlines the process of diagnosis and verification by the different education sectors
• Making schools ASD friendly
• Setting up and maintaining a whole school approach to inclusion.
Participants will leave this workshop with a greater confidence in making their own school more ASD friendly.
This workshop links to the Australian Professional Development of Standards - 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 2.3, 3.1, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 6.1, 6.2, 6.4, 7.4. Participants will recieve a certificate with these and the hours identified on the day.
