Special Event: Movie Screening | My Year With Helen

Former Prime Minister – Three Decades in Parliament - Third Highest Ranking Official at the UN - 174,000 followers on Twitter - “One of the most successful New Zealanders ever produced”

Join us for this very special event…

The 2018 BUHMUN (Bond University Highschool Model United Nations) Conference features a special screening of the political documentary My Year With Helen: The Helen Clark Documentary, a film about former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark as she campaigns for the position of United Nations Secretary-General, as well as working on global development issues as head of the United Nations Development Programme, and staying in daily contact with her 94-year-old father back home in New Zealand.

Award-winning filmmaker Gaylene Preston travels alongside Clark and gives us a glimpse into UN proceedings, explores the cracks between diplomats, the press and feminist activists as they push for change while caught up in the secretive and patriarchal processes of selecting a new Secretary General.

The screening of My Year With Helen is open to Bond University staff, students and the public, and will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s Producer, Catherine Madigan!

Watch the trailer here and prepare to feel goose bumps.
