Description

This interactive workshop is designed for all aged care food service staff, team leaders and service managers.

Special diets prescribed by health care professionals are designed to aid in recovery from illness or injury, to keep patients safe from adverse effects of allergies or texture modification or for cultural or religious reasons. This workshop highlights the roles and responsibilities of food service staff in the provision of special diets patients, and provides a general introduction to many common special diets used in the aged care setting.

Learning outcomes:

  • Appreciate the role of food in the health, safety and management of patients in the aged care setting
  • Understand the responsibilities of food service staff in the provision of safe meals to patients (and where their responsibilities end)
  • Identify common special diets, what they are and why they are used. Examples:
    • Diabetic diet
    • High energy / high protein diet
    • Diets for cultural or religious reasons, and
    • Texture modified meals
  • Feel comfortable providing meals that meet special diet requirements
  • Know where to access further information and assistance, if required

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

There is no need for paper tickets or to print this confirmation email. Your name will be on an attendee list at the workshop.

What is the refund policy?

Can I be invoiced for payment?

As a not-for-profit organisation unfortunately we do not have the resources to invoice each individual attendee therefore payment via this method is unavailable.

Payment via credit card online is preferred however if this is not possible, we can accept payment via cheque or money order. However you must allow sufficient time for it to arrive at our Victoria division office and to be banked before the workshop date.

If you would like to pay via cheque or money order, please contact us directly on 1300 515 523 so we can manually add you to your chosen session and provide you with further payment instructions.
