Event description

Description

Around the world and particularly in Australia, highly skilled traditional trades men and women are becoming an endangered species. The rise of large scale overseas production, where the maker’s hand are replaced for faster, cheaper technology, has seen a drastic decline in the role of local manufacturing.

In recent years, we’ve seen the rise of the maker movement, enabling new companies in manufacturing to produce locally made products that compete with the quality, pricing and timeframes offered through overseas production houses.

Join Jason Bird (Luxxbox) as he facilitates a panel discussion of multidisciplinary creatives to explore the role our design and architecture community plays in nurturing the growth of manufacturing on home soil.

Drinks for purchase available on arrival.

This event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Luxxbox.

6.15pm arrival for 6.30pm start.

If you are unable to attend this event please advise us via email info@brisbaneopenhouse.com.au as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else.
