Event description

Description

Watch poetry set to the sounds and
sights of Matriark Theatre.

This March, our regular meetups for high-school students start with spoken word - come and watch poetry blended with audio soundscapes and visual projections.

This performance will be the result of a 3-hour workshop conducted earlier in the day - here Matriark and poet Dr Gareth jenkins will collaborate with high school students to produce poetic performances set to projections and soundscapes.

Matriark Theatre

Sydney-based theatre-makers, Matriark, create new work for young people and families. Residing above Waterloo Library in one of the City of Sydney’s new Creative Live/Work spaces, they hail from a variety of creative backgrounds. Matriark use puppetry and physical comedy to build worlds and imagine surreal characters and stories for the stage. Their work has graced numerous Sydney stages, including the Monkey Baa Theatre, City of Sydney, Casula Powerhouse and Riverside Theatres.

This free performance is suitable for anyone who appreciates improvisation and the views of young people.

Bookings recommended.
