Event description

Description

South Sudan Voice (The Law Dialogue) is a dialogue theatre performance bringing together the South Sudanese community, service providers, and the general public in a live discussion as a part of Law Week 2018. A team of South Sudanese Australian and Free Theatre actors will perform the 20-minute play leading into a 90-minute moderated live dialogue with the audiences of up to 50 people. The dialogue will address issues of the implications of Australian laws and regulations for the South Sudanese community, particularly in relation to the core themes of youth justice, racial profiling, and intergenerational conflict.

The project is a collaboration of South Sudan Child First Education, Free Theatre, and the Victoria University International Community Development program. We would like to acknowledge the support of the Victoria Law Foundation, Law Week 2018, and the Department of Premier and Cabinet - South Sudan Fund for the support for this project.
