Event description
Know what to do if someone wants to report wrongdoing? Find out general information about the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003.

About this event

Are you:

• A designated (or soon to be designated) PID Officer?

• a manager or have responsibility for employees?

• in a human resources or governance role?

• in a conduct and integrity area involved in promoting integrity and preventing misconduct and corruption?

Western Australia's Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003 (PID Act) aims to ensure openness and accountability in the WA government sector by encouraging people to make disclosures and protecting them when they do. The PID Act enables people to make disclosures about wrongdoing within the WA public sector agency, local government, public university and government trading enterprise without fear of reprisal.

In this 1.25 hour session we will:

• Walk you through the PID Act

• Describe your role and responsibilities, if you are a PID Officer

• Explore how as managers you can build awareness of disclosures within your authority.

Please note, this is not a course on how to investigate a disclosure.
