Melbourne’s newest outdoor art and music event

The feature performance of soundvision will be a world premiere of a specially commissioned film work ‘Variations on Leonard French’ created by composer Tamil Rogeon and filmmaker Paul W Rankin, which will be brought to life by the Australian Youth Orchestra. This sunset piece will be inspired by the Four Seasons, the exquisite set of stained glass panels in the University’s sculpture park that were created by acclaimed artist Leonard French.

Hip-Hop star REMI will headline a bumper bill on the soundvision stage that includes Bollywood-inspired big band The Bombay Royale, multi-talented artist/producer Yeo and electronic duo GL and should create the perfect festival vibe for Melbourne music fans leading into the summer.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in style the University is hosting what is set to be one of the biggest outdoor music and arts events in Melbourne’s north in 2017. The University is taking advantage of its 232-hectare campus, set on beautiful bushland, to present a one-off suburban music festival featuring some of Melbourne’s top bands. The line-up is set to attract music fans from the suburbs close to the University including Reservoir, Preston, Thornbury and Northcote, and all of the inner suburbians who can hop on the 86-tram line directly to the University.

soundvision will be equipped with food trucks and bars and everything a music fan needs with tickets at a steal of just $20 for a host of acts that regularly command a much higher entry fee on their own.

Live music kicks off at 6pm with Emma Donovan and The Putbacks, The Bombay Royale and GL, before the party continues until 10.30pm after which Yeo and REMI take the stage and it kicks on until 2am.
